North Pembrokeshire Security Specialist
Fishguard occupies one of the most dramatically situated positions of any town in Wales — perched above a working harbour on the north Pembrokeshire coast, with the ancient Lower Town clustered around the quayside below and Goodwick and the Stena Line ferry terminal alongside. To the east, the Preseli Hills form the dramatic backdrop to a landscape of scattered farmsteads, single-track lanes, and rural isolation that extends across one of Wales' most sparsely populated areas.
Security installation in this environment demands equipment and expertise that national companies rarely offer. Harbour and coastal properties face salt corrosion, driving rain, and sustained high winds that eliminate standard cameras within a season. Preseli rural properties sit on 4G signal margins where broadband is unreliable and response times are long. Holiday lets and second homes — a significant part of the north Pembrokeshire property market — need systems that operate autonomously, alerting owners remotely regardless of where they are.
We install across all of this. Equipment specified for the environment. Systems designed for the specific property. Ben Norris of Premium CCTV & Alarms Ltd leads every installation personally — no subcontractors, no compromises.

Harbour & Coastal Installation
Fishguard Lower Town is one of the most photographed harbour villages in Wales — a working quayside of stone cottages, fishing boats, and waterfront buildings that sit directly exposed to the Irish Sea weather. Properties here are among the most challenging environments for any external camera installation. Standard domestic cameras fail within months in sustained salt air exposure.
We specify IP67-rated cameras with corrosion-resistant alloy housings for all Lower Town and harbour-facing positions. These are the same weatherproof standards used in genuine marine and industrial coastal applications — not domestic cameras with an inflated IP rating on the box. Brackets and fixings are stainless steel. Cable entry points are fully sealed against moisture ingress.
For Fishguard Upper Town and Goodwick residential properties above the harbour, IP66-rated cameras are standard — appropriate for the elevated and wind-exposed positions many of these properties occupy.
Preseli Hills — Rural Property Security
The landscape between Fishguard and the Preseli Hills is defined by isolation. Farmsteads on unmarked lanes. Properties where the nearest neighbour is half a mile away. Communities where police response times are measured in tens of minutes rather than single digits. In this environment, visible deterrence and instant remote notification are not optional extras — they are the entire point of a security system.
We install Preseli rural systems with 4G-enabled recording units that maintain remote access where broadband is absent or unreliable. AJAX alarm sensors communicate via encrypted radio signal across the kind of distances found in genuine rural properties, with cellular backup ensuring alarm communication regardless of internet status. Solar-powered camera positions are available for outbuildings and gate positions at distance from the main property supply.
Agricultural theft, rural burglary, and quad bike and machinery theft are persistent issues across the Preseli area. We design systems that address these specific risks — not generic domestic configurations.

Official AJAX Partner · Fishguard
AJAX's cellular backup is the critical feature for Fishguard and north Pembrokeshire installations. Coastal storms knock out broadband. Rural properties sit beyond reliable fibre coverage. AJAX maintains alarm communication through both conditions — dual SIM cellular ensures the system continues to send alerts and receive commands regardless of whether the property's internet is functioning.
Battery backup keeps every AJAX sensor and hub active through power cuts — particularly important in exposed coastal and hillside positions where overhead lines are vulnerable to storm damage. The system's encrypted two-way radio communication between sensors and hub maintains reliability across the larger footprints of rural north Pembrokeshire properties.
For holiday let owners managing Fishguard or St Davids properties remotely — arm, disarm, and monitor from your phone, wherever you are.

Fishguard Installation — Recent Case Study
We installed a security system for a Lower Town harbour cottage that the owner lets as a holiday property during the season and occupies themselves during the winter months. The cottage sits directly on the quayside — harbour-facing elevation fully exposed to the weather, with a rear lane access that had been used by persons unknown to access the rear yard during a previous off-season period.
Four cameras were installed: a harbour-facing front elevation camera in an IP67 marine-grade housing covering the quayside approach and front door, a rear lane camera covering the full lane section behind the property, a rear yard camera with colour night vision, and a compact interior camera covering the entrance hallway and staircase for guest monitoring during the letting season. All external fixings were stainless steel. An AJAX alarm covered the front door, rear gate, and ground-floor windows, with cellular backup active given the property's exposed location.
The owner manages the system entirely via smartphone from their main residence. During the letting season, motion zones are configured to exclude normal guest activity while maintaining perimeter alerts.

Yes. We are official AJAX partners and install AJAX wireless alarm systems across Fishguard, Goodwick, and the wider north Pembrokeshire area. AJAX is particularly well suited to Fishguard's exposed coastal properties — wireless installation avoids the vulnerability of surface cabling in high-wind environments, and cellular backup ensures alarm communication continues when coastal broadband is disrupted.
Yes. Fishguard Lower Town harbour and the exposed coastal properties above the town require IP66 and IP67-rated cameras as an absolute minimum — the salt air, driving rain, and high winds that characterise this part of the Pembrokeshire coast degrade standard cameras quickly. We specify corrosion-resistant, weatherproof equipment as standard for all Fishguard coastal and harbour positions.
Yes. The Preseli Hills hinterland between Fishguard and Narberth is one of the most sparsely populated and isolated rural landscapes in Wales. Properties here — often on single-track lanes with no immediate neighbours — require extended perimeter coverage, long-range night vision, and reliable alarm communication. We install systems designed for genuine rural isolation including 4G connectivity options where broadband infrastructure is absent.
Yes. Goodwick and the Stena Line ferry terminal area form an integral part of the Fishguard conurbation. We cover Goodwick residential properties, the harbour commercial area, and businesses in the vicinity of the port. Commercial port-adjacent installations are designed for high-traffic environments with 24-hour activity.
Yes. We install BS5839-compliant fire alarm systems across Fishguard for residential properties, holiday lets, landlords, and commercial premises. North Pembrokeshire holiday let operators have specific legal obligations around fire detection — we ensure every system is fully compliant.
Yes. St Davids, the UK's smallest city, and the north Pembrokeshire coastal peninsula to the west of Fishguard are within our service area. Properties in this area include significant holiday let concentrations, rural smallholdings, and exposed coastal homes — all requiring systems suited to the specific environment and the remote location.
Fishguard is within our West Wales service area. Survey and installation timescales are confirmed on booking — call 07464 366095 to discuss availability. Coastal and rural properties requiring detailed survey and equipment specification may have a slightly longer lead time.
